From order to monitoring in four steps
TankBoss is designed to get you up and running fast — no electrician, no complicated setup, no ongoing maintenance headaches.
1. Contact RanchOn to Order
Reach out to the RanchOn team directly by email or phone. We’ll talk through your operation — how many tanks you’re monitoring, what types of tanks you have, and what connectivity looks like on your property. We’ll make sure TankBoss is the right fit before you commit to anything.
2. Create Your RanchOn Account
Once you have TankBoss in hand, you’ll set up your RanchOn account. This gives you access to the RanchOn app — the dashboard where all your tank data lives. Your account ties your TankBoss devices to your operation so you can monitor everything in one place, whether you have one tank or ten.

3. Install TankBoss on Your Tank
Installation varies slightly by tank type, but most setups require no special tools. Our TankBoss frame adapts to lids, T-posts and concrete walled tanks. TankBoss is designed to be installed by the rancher. Got a unique setup or want us to handle the install? No problem, we got a guy…
4. Monitor from Anywhere
Open the RanchOn app on your smartphone or computer and see real-time water levels for every connected tank. Set custom low-level alerts so you’re notified by text the moment something needs attention — before livestock go without water. Works on the tanks you already have
TankBoss is designed to work with the most common tank types found on working ranches. No need to replace or modify your existing infrastructure.
Poly Tanks
TankBoss installs on standard poly tanks using the included lid adapter. Setup takes minutes with no tools required — remove the lid, install the adapter, and you’re done.
Concrete Reservoirs
Works on concrete reservoirs of any size. The sensor mounts through the lid opening and begins tracking water levels immediately. Common for larger stock tanks.
Steel & Oilfield Tanks
Repurposed oilfield tanks are common across West Texas ranches. TankBoss adapts to converted steel tanks and begins monitoring right after installation. Contact us if you have an unusual tank configuration — we’ve likely seen it before.

TankBoss is built to work in remote ranch environments. Here’s what you need to get started.
● A RanchOn Account Secure account that connects your TankBoss devices to the RanchOn app and your ranch.
● A Smartphone The RanchOn app runs on iOS and Android. Any modern smartphone will work. Got an older flip-phone? We can work with that. We’ll set you up and you can still receive alerts.
● Cellular or Satellite Connectivity TankBoss transmits data over cellular or satellite — so it works even where cell signal doesn’t reach. No WiFi required at the tank.
● That’s It No WiFi at the tank. No electrician. Just TankBoss, your account, and your phone.

Does TankBoss require WiFi or cellular at the tank?
No WiFi required. TankBoss transmits data over cellular or satellite — so it works even in areas where cell signal is weak or nonexistent. This is what makes it practical for truly remote ranch tanks miles from the barn or deep in a canyon. Contact us if you’re uncertain about connectivity at your location.
Can I monitor multiple tanks?
Yes. The RanchOn app lets you connect and monitor multiple TankBoss units from a single account. If you’re managing water across several pastures or properties, you can see all your tank levels in one place.
What happens when a tank runs low?
You’ll receive an alert on your phone — before the tank is empty. You set the threshold, so you can customize alerts based on how quickly your tanks drain and how long it takes to get water out to that location.
Will TankBoss work on my tank?
TankBoss is compatible with poly, concrete, and steel tanks. If you have an unusual setup — a custom fabricated tank, a large earthen reservoir, or a converted container — contact us. We’ve worked with a wide variety of configurations and can advise before you order.
I don’t have a smart phone.
We can still set you up, you just can’t use the app. You will need to log onto the web-based app or just call us to change settings when you need to. You’ll still be able to get text alerts on your phone.

RanchOn LLC is headquartered in Loraine, Texas. TankBoss was designed by a team with deep roots in West Texas ranching and water systems engineering. It was tested on real working ranches — not in a lab — before we sold a single unit.
